About

James McIntyre is a proud second-generation McDonald’s Owner/Operator and a graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Before joining the family business, James built a career in aviation as a flight instructor and international charter pilot.

In 1997, James began working in his family’s McDonald’s organization, starting from the ground up in maintenance at their Nazareth restaurant. Through hands-on experience, continued leadership development, and completion of McDonald’s Hamburger University, he advanced through restaurant operations and ultimately became a multi-store supervisor.

James became an Owner/Operator in 2008, purchasing his first two McDonald’s restaurants. He continued to grow Jamren Inc. by adding another restaurant in 2017, followed by the development of a fourth location in 2019. In 2022, Jamren expanded again by building its Coopersburg restaurant. Most recently, in April 2025, Jamren acquired the Nazareth McDonald’s, bringing the organization to six McDonald’s restaurants across Eastern Pennsylvania.

James remains actively involved in both the McDonald’s system and the communities Jamren serves. His leadership extends beyond the restaurants through his involvement with the Philadelphia Operators Cooperative, HLS Chamber, McDonald’s All-Star Football Game, and Bucks County Transportation Committee.

As a second-generation Owner/Operator, James is committed to continuing his family’s legacy while building for the future. His focus remains on developing strong leaders, creating opportunities for employees, delivering an exceptional guest experience, and supporting the communities surrounding each Jamren restaurant.

James and his wife Karen live in Bethlehem, PA. Karen attended Freedom High School and pursued a Nursing Degree at Cedar Crest College, she is currently a Community Health Nurse employed by St. Luke’s Hospital.  She enjoys volunteering with many charities including her children’s schools, church, and especially the Bethlehem Police Mounted Patrol.
 
James and Karen have three children and three dogs.
